Wages
We negotiate the best total compensation package we can for our members. However, the negotiated wage is only a minimum wage our contractors are required to pay. For instance, if the negotiated wage is $25.00 per hour, there is nothing that stops a contractor from paying one of our members $30.00 per hour.
Healthcare
SMART Local 33 members earn the best healthcare in the area. Our members do not have to pay out of pocket for these plans as long as they are working. Most non-union companies offer high-deductible plans. All of our health care plans are low-deductible, FAMILY plans.
Training
Local 33 members are able to receive training at our training centers in both safety and skills. Why is this important? It’s simple – higher skilled employees make more money and have more secure employment.
