My name is Gregory Brown. Shane got me in the union about 4 months ago. I think this was one of the best decision I ever made. Reason I think it was the best decision is because the money and benefits are so much better than non-union company. I been doing HVAC for over 6 years now. It was nice not to have to restart and Shane got me brought on as a journey man. The people are great in the union.
I am a female working in the sheet metal union. I started my apprenticeship at 17 years old. When I started working with T.H. Martin, the only experience I had was knowing how to weld, but the apprenticeship taught me everything I know as a third year apprentice. We make great money especially for kids your age. At 20 years old I own a new 2021 truck that I got to buy myself and I'm making more money than all of my friends. Being a women in this trade is challenging but highly rewarding and I truly hope to see more women in the trades.
